This weekend I daydreamed a bit about traveling again and something someone said to me on my last travels to Malaysia popped into my head. He said something along the lines of being in “the abroad”. Apparently it is a mood that you have when you are far from normal everyday life and in holiday mode, you feel all happy and zen with no worries. I think I want that feeling, I miss that feeling and I guess nostalgia came knocking. I opened up the photos of my trip and just reminisced the time away.
And then a thought occurred to me, I am starting to forget bits and pieces here and there of my trip and I needed to writ it on my virtual time-capsule AKA Le blog. See photos are a great way of storing memories but there is something about words that sometimes paints a vivid scenery that is lyrical to the point of magic. And for me nothing beats that. Not the most beautiful image or video. So as I always do, I will try and write as much as I want to remember about my trip to the beautiful Island of Penang and every stop in between.
Another important part of this adventure is that although I went on the trip with my Mum, most of the exploring I did was on my own and so in a weird sense, it felt like my first solo trip abroad—if you don’t count life in my second home, England. So keep your eyes on this site for the posts to come and join me on a reliving of a time well spent!
