I was in Leeds last summer for a short stay to attend my sister’s graduation and stayed at the gorgeous Mansio Suites apartment. I was impressed with the accommodation and thought to write about it in case any of you will be in Leeds in the future.
The apartment is a serviced apartment which means you get all the concierge and cleaning services of a hotel but with a little extra freedom. The best part for me was how clean, simple, modern and new everything was!
My first criteria for judging how good a hotel is, regardless of how expensive, is if it is well maintained and gives me an aura of peace when I walk in. And peace in my case means smelling good and being super organized and clean.
The bed is a little bit small so it may not be very comfy for 2 people especially if one is a restless sleeper but it sure is cozy and the bedding is of very good quality. It was very difficult waking up in the morning and I wished I stayed in longer.
The added touch of a bathrobe was welcomed, because I like chilling in a bathrobe so it is always nice to have one added in a hotel room.
Next is the bathroom! Although it was a shower and not a bathtub, it was surprisingly nice. The shower-head was massive and the water current was strong enough for a good shower. And it was nice of the hotel to add a loofah sponge cos I almost always forget mine when I travel.
They also had the Molton Brown bathroom supplies which I liked cos when I stay in hotels, I like taking the free mini bathroom supplies home with me to use on my short trips back in Nigeria where it is hand luggage only and I can’t take my full-sized products. So it is nice when the hotels have good quality supplies.
There was enough towels in the bathroom and they were all looking new and clean (worse thing is when hotels provide towels that are worn).
The living room was gorgeous and I absolutely loved the lighting option the whole apartment provided. If you wanted to create a super bright vibe, or bring it down to romantic and cozy, then the lamps and ceiling lights come in handy. The whole setup in the living room wasn’t all that fancy but it was classy and beautiful.
My fave part of this apartment is probably the Kitchen. I loved how it was designed from the colour to the style and it had everything you’ll need to prepare a simple meal.
Sometimes when I’m travelling, I get tired of eating out all the time so I like to cook. Or sometimes, I have leftovers from a restaurant, and this kitchen set up means I can re-invent the leftovers into another meal. This is a good travel tip to save yourself some extra cash for other activities.
I was able to see another room in the hotel and it was setup where the living room was downstairs with a separate bathroom and kitchen, and then the bedroom was upstairs.
My sister mentioned that students rent out the apartments during term time and I am guessing for long-term stays, you will be getting a discount so if you are heading to Leeds for a long-term stay, this place is Planetmeera approved!
The only downside, which isn’t really a big deal, is the entrance to this Basinghall apartments is in an alleyway and the main reception which is in a separate building isn’t easy to find the first time. But once you find it, you’re good.
I gave a tour of the space on my youtube channel so you can watch it below! Don’t forget to check out my other videos, and also Subscribe!

Hey do you remember what your room number was?
I’m afraid I don’t, all I can remember is that it was at the The Basinghall building and on the ground floor.
