REVIEW | Cosrx Good Morning Gel Cleanser

March 25, 2018

I have always raved about how amazing the Korean Beauty industry is, from the serums to the fermented wonders to the all mighty 10-step skincare routines, the beauty industry has the perfectly formulated products to give you glowing younger looking skin.

But just like any type of product, there are certain ingredients and formulas that you have to check for to cater to the type of skin you have and to also prevent making it worse.

One of such elements is the PH level of a product. Depending on the PH level of your skin, it can attract bad bacteria that can worsen the condition of your skin and cause dryness and irritation, messing with the look and feel of your skin.

A high PH is what causes the stripping and tight feeling you get after washing your face, the feeling that you have wiped off all the good oils from your face alongside the bad.

These articles by The KLOG and SkincareRx delves into the science behind PH levels and explains the nitty gritty so do check it out! Marie Claire mag also gives 7 tips to battle the PH monster to protect your skin.

All that being said, let’s move on to the product of the day, The Cosrx Low PH Good Morning gel Cleanser!

Cosrx is a brand out of the Beauty mecca, South Korea, that has been catering to all skin types for over 10 years. Their product development philosophy is to use only good ingredients and avoid all the harmful ingredients that sneak into our products. Their tagline is “Expecting Tomorrow” indicating that their products are made to give clearer better skin for the next day.

They are also a customer oriented brand as they try to consult the opinions of their consumers in their research process when producing a new product. This was the same formula they used to create the Good Morning cleanser. This cleanser is my first step everyday when it comes to my morning skincare routine. I use the Cosrx Cleanser with cold water in the mornings and warm water at night . The cleanser comes in a gel form and has a mild tea tree smell.

This is brilliant because the tea tree smell comes from tea tree oil in the ingredient. Tea tree is known as one of the holy grails of skincare as it treats acne & acne scars, inflamed skin, razor burn, eczema and so much more. With this cleanser, a little goes a long way and unlike most gel cleansers, it foams really well. I apply it in circular motions all over my face and neck and wash it off. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or tight, which is great!

It also is great value for money retailing at $11 – $12 for a 150ml bottle. I used it morning and night everyday for 5 months and I have just ran out of it.It is good for all skin types most especially, dry, sensitive skin and also brilliant for combination/oily skin which is my skin type.

Ingredients: Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Polysorbate 20, Styrax Japonicus Branch/Fruit/Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Saccharomyces Ferment, Cryptomeria Japonica Leaf Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract, Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Flower Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Allantoin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Betaine Salicylate, Citric Acid, Ethyl Hexanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Sodium Benzoate, Disodium EDTA.

You can find it on Amazon.com and order for delivery to Nigeria through Mall for Africa!
